SINCE 1923 · TMS RUGBY
Run it in. Go forward.
Founded in 1923, the first rugby team in Taiwan — which is why Tamkang is called the cradle of the game here.
- 1923
- Taiwan’s first rugby team, founded at Tamkang
- 4
- national championships
- 1968
- the first Ching-chung Cup, among Taiwan’s oldest sporting events
- 100
- years — the team turned one hundred in 2023
Why Tamkang
The team recruits through the school’s own admissions. Tuition, fees, boarding and uniform are waived, and players sit in ordinary classes rather than a sports stream.
Study
綜合高中學制，球員與一般生同班上課，不是體育班。高二自己選學程，晚上有課業輔導。
Rugby
依球員特質安排位置與訓練，每位球員都有上場機會。
Writing
Pieces written for the team’s page over the years by the humanities programme’s editorial group: the history, the shirt, the Ching-chung Cup, the players’ days, and what a first-time viewer wants to know.
