Privacy Policy

The Private Tamkang Senior High School History Gallery (hereinafter “the Gallery”) provides its various services in accordance with the Library Act, and in accordance with Article 8, Paragraph 1 of the Personal Data Protection Act (hereinafter “the PDPA”) hereby announces the following matters. Please read them in full.
1. Purpose of collecting personal data
In order to carry out business relating to resource use and outreach services and the like, the Gallery needs to collect your personal data.
2. Period and scope of the processing and use of personal data
The Gallery will reasonably process and use your personal data within the period for which the purpose of collection subsists or within the retention period necessary for carrying out its business; the area of processing and use is not limited.
The Gallery will use your personal data in carrying out the various business activities of the purpose of collection, including providing personal data to the Tamkang Senior High School Library for cooperative reading and borrowing and returning services, and the various contacts, notifications, statistical analyses and off-site backups necessary for carrying out that business.
3. Categories of personal data collected
The personal data of yours that the Gallery collects in carrying out its business includes your name in Chinese and in English, certificate number, national identity card number, contact telephone number and address, e-mail address and so forth, as detailed in the contents of the application forms for each service.
When you use the various online resource services provided by the Gallery, the Gallery and database vendors will use cookies for management and recording. This includes recording log data such as IP address, files used and times.
4. Provision of personal data
You may freely choose whether to provide the relevant personal data; however, if you refuse to provide personal data, the Gallery will be unable to provide the relevant services.
Please provide your own correct, current and complete personal data as required by each service; if there is any change in your personal data, please apply to the Gallery of your own accord for correction.
If you provide incorrect, out-of-date, incomplete or misleading data and your rights and interests are thereby harmed, the Gallery will not bear the related liability for compensation.
5. Confidentiality of personal data
The Gallery will discharge its responsibility for the protection of personal data. If, owing to a natural disaster, an incident or other force majeure, your personal data is stolen, disclosed, altered or otherwise infringed, the Gallery will, after ascertaining the facts, notify you by whichever is appropriate of telephone, e-mail or announcement on the website.
6. Rights the data subject may exercise with respect to personal data
Under Article 3 of the PDPA, you may exercise the following rights with respect to the personal data of yours that the Gallery holds:
To request enquiry or review, to request that a copy be made and issued, to request supplementation or correction, to request that collection, processing or use cease, or to request deletion; however, where it is necessary for the Gallery's performance of its business, the Gallery may decline to act on the request.
7. Amendment of this notice
The Gallery reserves the right to amend this notice. After amending the content of this notice, the Gallery will notify you through the contact means you have provided or by announcement on the website; if you do not raise an objection, or if you continue to use the Gallery's services, this indicates that you have agreed to the content as amended by the Gallery.
